June 29, 2015 - TEAM Matthews hosted many of the attendees to the FAPT Annual Summer Symposium with a fun "kick-off" gathering at the TEAM Matthews Tumbler Tavern (a.k.a Friendly Confines). The FAPT conference was the final stop on the FL tour for the 1st CNG Type C school bus from Thomas Built Buses, Freightliner, and Cummins Engine Co., Yes it exists! The bus toured the state throughout the month of June visiting many school districts that are interested in CNG as a possible fuel of choice. In addition to this bus being on display, Matthews also had their Propane Powered Thomas C2 demo on display. Customers got to see first hand that no matter what fuel you choose, we've got you covered. In addition to these buses being on display, TEAM Matthews top scoring road technicians were in attendance with their mobile service vans as well as Ali Rampartab (trainer) which further showed "no matter what fuel you choose, it's business as usual with TEAM Matthews." Since the conference was close by to our centrally located Orlando facility, we also brought many of our valuable team members to Lake Mary. Our three school district experienced team members, Don Ross (MB FL, GM previously Head of Maintenance at Manatee County), Pete Fenderson (MB FL, Sales Rep, Previous Head of Maintenance at Sarastota County, and Gene Hupp, MB FL Quality Assurance Manager, Previously with Orange County Fleet Maintenance, Pine Hills) were there to lend support. Overall, this was a great opportunity to put faces to names for many of our TEAM Members and customers. TEAM Matthews Florida even had a special guest in attendance to greet customers in Mark "Super" Duper who's name is in the ring of Honer in Sun Life Stadium for his accomplishments catching passes as one of the Marks' Brothers for the Miami Dolphins. #85 was on the receiving end of Dan Marino's longest passes. Everyone at TEAM Matthews enjoyed sponsoring the events, the fellowship, and most of all being there to support of FAPT and its' members. We are already looking forward to next year's conference in Destin, FL.
