Matthews Buses, Inc., Orlando recently received a purchase order off of the FL DOE ITB 2015-01 Contract for 48 Propane Powered 71 Passenger Thomas Saf-T-Liner C2 School Buses from Seminole County. Thank you Seminole County! These Buses signify Thomas Built Buses entry into the Florida Propane Powered school bus market.

This state of the art Saf-T-Liner School Bus features:

  • A 8.0 L V-8 Powertrain Integration General Motors Long Block Engine with 339 hp @ 3100 RPM w/ 495 lb-ft @ 4100 RPM.
  • This engine was developed for True Medium Duty applications
  • Allison 2350 Automatic Transmission
  • Dual TM-21 factory mounted A/C Compressors from Powertrain Integration
  • 300 mile range

By purchasing these Saf-T-Liner C2 Propane Powered buses, it will be “business as usual” for Seminole County and any other districts that wishes to purchase alternative fueled buses from Team Matthews. Under the leadership of Ali Rampartab (In-House Technical Support Adviser and Award Winning Trainer) Matthews provides on site service, training and support just as we do with our Clean Diesel customers.

Thomas Built Buses introduced the Safe-T-Liner C2 CNG powered chassis at NAPT in Kansas City. Deliveries of the C2 CNG will be available in early 2016. C2 CNG Demo units will be available to test drive mid 2015.
